A poet, journalist, and curator, NaBeela Washington has been writing since the age of six.

Though her roots were established in The South, she now embraces the beauty of The Midwest to translate the complexities of the Black experience and impacts of growing up in fast food. She uses her Bachelor's degree in Visual Advertising from The University of Alabama at Birmingham and her Master's degree in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University to organize arts programs that bring people together.
