NaBeela Washington is a photographer, journalist, and curator.
Drawing from her Southern roots and life in Chicago, she uses photography to archive and examine the moments that connect us. Her images and words focus on documenting everyday rituals, communal gatherings, and the traditions that preserve lineage and tell stories of the power we each hold.
She uses her Bachelor's degree in Visual Advertising from The University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Master's degree in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University to bring people together.

She received a Best New Poets nomination and a Voices of Color Poet Fellowship from Martha's Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing, was among 20 finalists for Catapult Seacoast's '10 to Watch’ award, and was invited to read her poetry by the Takoma Park Poetry Reading Series. She is also the proud mama of the lively literary arts organization, Lucky Jefferson.
Her poetry has been published in The Cincinnati Review, The Washington Writers’ Publishing House, Juke Joint Magazine, perhappened mag, The Sligo Journal, Roanoke Review, Crazyhorse and others.
